Govt plans call centre for RTI applications
Government has decided to set up a call centre with a portal for receiving RTI applications. The Department of Personnel has invited proposals from call centres and IT agencies for setting up of such a call centre. According to Ministry of Personnel, complete proposals can be sent to them by July 10, 2012.

Bengal to rope in NGOs to revive sick hospitals
In its bid to tone up healthcare system in West Bengal, the State government has decided to handover state-owned sick hospitals to non-profitable organisations or trusts for operations and management.To begin with, the State Government has decided to entrust the 100-bed North Suburban Hospital for its revival on experiment basis.

TRAI limits advt duration on TV channels
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has limited the duration of advertisements on Television channels to 12 minutes per hour. In a statement, the TRAI said that as per the Standards of Quality of Service Regulation 2012, any shortfall of advertisement duration in any clock hour cannot be carried over.

Kerala to launch virtual classrooms in 34 ITIs
Kerala will introduce virtual classrooms in 34 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state to improve quality of education in these institutions. "Students from weaker sections of the society frequent ITIs. We have decided that they also should get advantage of the ongoing technological revolution," state Labour Minister Shibu Baby John told reporters here.
